Once again, the infamous Highway 340, just approaching Sri Prachan heading North I saw this truck which had been involved in a nasty collision.
Thing is, I can't work out what he hit? You can see the cab, it's destroyed. I have no idea if there was another vehicle, or what happened to the driver and if he was OK. Judging by the state of the cab he's probably pretty far from OK.
The accident took place by a pedestrian bridge, which is how I managed to get the above shot. No noticeable damage to the bridge, or the concrete fence along the Highway. As he has ended up on his side, and the bridge is located on a bend, I guess what probably happened is he took the bend too fast, lost it, and ended up hitting the concrete bridge? If that's what's happened then he came off far worse. They are pretty heavy duty those bridges.
Also, no police or road warnings, so a likely scenario for collision no. 2.
Some guys had pulled their truck alongside and were emptying the contents, I'm pretty sure they were recovery guys, they weren't getting a sweat on.
So, another very bad accident on this road.

There are so many bad accidents daily all over Thailand, just like everywhere else in the world, I guess. Just the amount of times that you just scratch your head and go; "What the hell happened here, I can't figure it out" ratio is a lot higher than most other places in the world. I gues................

They often happen on relatively straightforward roads? and like you say, frighteningly often....It's impossible to count how many times you see the aftermath isn't it?

Are you sure Johnny wasn't seen fleeing the accident?
I only wonder.............
